4th Annual Cut-A-Thon

For our 4th Annual Cut-a-Thon, held Sunday, October 17th, stylists donated their time and tips to raise money for the Band of Parents Foundation, a non-profit raising money to fund research for the pediatric cancer, Neuroblastoma. This year, we raised $972, bringing our four year total for funds raised for pediatric cancer funding to over $5500. Thank you to our stylists and clients who participated in this very worthy cause. We've been hosting this event for four years in honor of Taylor Love, our local 5 year old Neuroblastoma warrior. Those of you following Taylor's story may know that she has shown NED (No Evidence of Disease) from Neuroblastoma after a long and hard fight but was tragically diagnosed chemo-induced Leukemia earlier this year and spent her entire summer in the hospital. Taylor is currently at home recovering well from her bone marrow transplant. We are anxiously awaiting her day 100 post-transplant milestone -- she is more than halfway there. If you would like updates on Taylor, please sign up for her CarePages page. Fashion for Hope 2010

Rebecca Garcia and Brooke Tucker participated in this 2nd annual event to help raise money and awareness for Women for Women International, an organization that strives to help women in war-torn countries.  With over seven fashion designers participating and even more models to walk the runway, Rebecca and Brooke worked their magic completing each look.  Both Rebecca and Brooke volunteered their time and expertise for this spectacular event.

Pink Hair for Hope

Seen anyone walking around the town with pink streaks in their hair? They are proudly supporting breast cancer awareness and funding research for a cure! During the months of September and October, clients could stop by Salon Khouri for a "little pink" added to their hair in the form of a natural SO.CAP hair extension. The cost was $10 and 100% of the proceeds go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation and the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. This is our second year participating in this event, and this year we raised $1090!
