Like us, you probably can't turn on the TV these days without watching the ongoing situation the Gulf with the spill of thousands of gallons of oil from the deep water well. You may not realize it, but if you have had your hair cut or trimmed at Salon Khouri recently, you have actively helped to clean up the spill. We recently sent 80 lbs of hair clippings to the gulf with the Matter of Trust Organization. And, realizing that animal hair is just as effective in absorbing oils, we have just teamed up with our neighboring business, Bark N Bubbles, who will start saving dog hair). Now even your pet can participate in helping alleviate the devastating effects of the oil spill.
Our Salon Khouri team has been busy with Crystal receiving a promotion to salon assistant, Shelby Hersey joining us as our new shampoo tech for the summer months and several employees attending the Eufora Hair Show in Tyson's Corner. Ask stylists Jonathan, Rebecca, Leah and Nonya to tell you about it. They learned advanced razor cutting techniques, men's specialty barbering and new long hair cutting techniques. Nonya meanwhile attended a course on salon business development and management.
One more thing...We are closing July 3 and 4th Have a wonderful holiday! We also will not be open on Mondays during July through August. Beginning in September, except to see us open again on every other Monday. We will remain open on Sundays throughout the summer. We hope that you will have a wonderful summer season. Bring lots of vacation, graduation, and/or wedding photos to share on your next visit!

Hair Clippings Help Control Oil Spills!We hope that you think green every day of every year and we want to remind you to contact your favorite pet service providers and even farmers who raise cattle, horses, sheep and other animals with absorbent hair/fur. Let them know that they can save and collect animal clippings to help out in creating nets to help control the oil spill in the Gulf. We participate in Matter of Trust and we've partnered with our neighbor, Bark 'N Bubbles of Fairfax, to collect pet hair clippings.
