As we send this edition of Snippets, warm summer days are upon us, and we hope that you are able to get away from your daily grind for at least a few days for some summer relaxation.
We hope this summer is about fun! We would love to share in the fun spirit of a spunky little elderly lady one staff member spotted wearing bright red and blue streaks in her gorgeous white hair hair on Memorial Day! That got us thinking, if she can do it, so should the rest of us! Beginning in July, we will be closed Mondays and closing at 4 PM on Saturdays. Also, please note that we will be closing at 4 PM on Friday, July 3rd, and closed on Satuday, July 4. Chlorine Proof Your Summer Hairdo
A first step before entering a pool or hot tub containing chlorine is to thoroughly wet your hair; then apply a hair conditioner. Both these steps will minimize the amount of chlorinated water your hair will absorb during your swim. After your swim, rinse quickly with club soda to strip damaging effects from remaining chlorine clinging to your locks. And, be sure to wash and deep condition you hair after each swim to help restore the natural moisture balance, and minimize the drying effects of chlorine. If excessive chlorine exposure has stressed your hair, we urge you to try one of our signature conditioning treatments. |
Salon Khouri Continues Hair Collection
Salon Khouri stylists and staff are concerned about our environment and are committed to becoming a greener business. The oil spill hair collection program in April was such a success that we are keeping it as a regular program for now. To review, Salon Khouri collects hair clippings and sends them to Matter of Trust in San Francisco, CA where they are used in a hair mat to collect oil spills. Old stockings can also be shipped off as they are useful in doing collection in smaller areas, around buoys and with smaller spills. Bring them by on your next visit to Salon Khouri. | |
