CISA Announces New President

The Council of International Students Australia (CISA) has recently elected Aleem Nizari as their new president. At CISA's national conference this month, Mr. Nizari ran a workshop for international students interested in leadership positions within their institutions and chaired a government panel. Southern Cross University

 

Southern Cross University will be the first university in Australia to offer a formal tertiary qualification in pedorthics. Additionally, they are now offering programs in podiatry and speech pathology. Click here to read more about their new programs.

Applications now open

The Australian-American Fulbright Commission is pleased to announce that applications for the 2013 Anne Wexler Master's Scholarship in Public Policy are now open. Valued at up to AUD$140,000, this scholarship supports a Master's degree program in Australia of up to two years duration. Click here to apply or learn more. 

Monash Tops Medicine
 
Named first in Australia for Pharmacy and Pharmacology

QS Top Universities has ranked Monash University as the best university in Australia and sixth best in the world for their programs in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Their programs in Law, Education, History, and Materials Science were also all ranked within the top 25 globally. National Student Leadership Forum

The National Student Leadership Forum is extending invitations to Australian students studying in the U.S. to attend this year's event. Hosted by members of Congress, the Forum will be held from 2-4 November in Washington D.C. Sydney University Graduates Union of North America (SUGUNA) Annual Conference, 2-5 August, Boston University, Boston, MA.

Activities include morning presentations, afternoon excursions, evening receptions and the Saturday award banquet at the elegant Algonquin Club. Presenters include Alan Ruby, University of Pennsylvania, on global trends in university education, VIkram Khurana, Harvard University, on Parkinson's disease,and Rami Cobb on wildlife of the Mongolian steppe.
