International Education Advisory Council Announced

Minister for Tertiary Education, Senator Chris Evans announced a new International Education Advisory Council to advise the Australian Government in developing a new long-term strategy for the international education sector in Australia

Deakin University now offers a J-term program on Australian Studies from 4-21 January 2012 at its Geelong Campus. Topics include Australian history, culture, sport and Aboriginal issues. For more information, click here.

Video Contest Winners Announced
University of Queensland student wins

Steven Oishi is the grand prize winner of two round-trip tickets to Australia courtesy of V Australia! Steven won the 'Discover Your Future Unlimited' video contest for his video 'My Future Unlimited'. Steven is a UBC student currently on exchange at the University of Queensland. Endeavour Executve Awards - Apply by 20 December
Professional development opportunity

The Endeavour Executive Awards provide funding for professional development opportunities in Australia including management training, peer-to-peer learning, mentoring, short courses or developing leadership skills. Post-Study Work Visa
Opportunities for graduates to work in Australia

Australia will introduce a work visa for international students who have graduated from Australian universities. Students graduating with a bachelor's or master's by coursework degree will be eligible for a two-year work visa and students graduating with a master's by research or PhD will be eligible to work up to four years. Internship at the Embassy of Australia
Opportunity for students or recent graduates

Australian Education International - North America (AEI-NA) is seeking a full-time education policy intern to begin in January through April 2012. The intern will assist with researching, monitoring, and reporting on US and Canadian education policy, attend and report on education events, and assist the policy manager with supplemental duties as requested.
