Revised Australian Qualifications Framework

The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) has been re-launched starting 1 July. One significant revision is that a Master's degree is now defined as 1.5 years following a bachelor's degree.

2010-11 Student Ambassador Program Wraps Up
We would like to thank all North American and Australian institutions who participated in the 2010-11 Student Ambassador Program, for a job well done. Anne Wexler Scholarship
Application deadline 30 September
Students wishing to pursue a Master's in Public Policy in Australia are eligible to apply for the Anne Wexler Scholarship. This scholarship, valued at up to AUD$140,000, is open to graduate, Public Policy students, focusing on areas such as health, sustainability, political science, governmental relations and more. Australian Graduate Outcomes Strong
  
Research by Graduate Careers Australia shows that 76.2 per cent of 2009 bachelor degree-holding graduates are employed full-time and 15.1 per cent found part-time work. More information is available here.

Farewell to Jen Nielsen, Education Manager

 

The Education team at the Embassy of Australia is sad to announce the departure of Education Manager, Jen Nielsen. Jen worked here for nearly six years and led several Higher Education Seminars to Australia. We wish her well in her new role as the Associate Director of Education at the University of Queensland in Washington, DC.


And the Winners Are...
NAFSA Raffle Recipients
Congratulations to the two winners of the Australia raffle at NAFSA. Jeanne Fahey, from Northeastern University, received an Aussie gift basket, complete with a plethora of Down Under goodies, and Renee Sanchez, from the University of South Florida, won a stuffed animal koala, as well as a fine bottle of Australian wine.
