We are now accepting application for our Semester 2 blogging program.  Student bloggers document their studies, lifestyle and cultural experiences as they study in Australia.  If your students are interested, have them download an application here

Orientation for Education Abroad Professional: Monday 30 May 9:00am -12:00pm
Tom Howard of HES International - Australia/Europe will be presenting an orientation about making the most of the NAFSA annual conference for education abroad professionals based outside the United States.  

 

CTW: Internationalising the Curriculum: Opportunities and Challenges: Tuesday 31 May 8:00am - 12:00pm

Gavin Sanderson of the University of South Australia will co-present on what internationalising curriculum entails, and what the implications might be for your institution.

 

Outbound from Down Under: Tuesday 31 May 2:30-3:45pm
In this NAFSA session, University of Melbourne Associate Director of Global Mobility Nigel Cossar presents on the emerging trend in Australia of curricular and extracurricular programs supporting improved international learning mobility experiences.
 

Forces Shaping Institutional Decisions on Internationalization:
Wednesday 1 June 8:00am - 9:15am
Betty Leask from the University of South Australia will present on the ways in which institutional strategies are affected by the culture and structure of their institution, nation, or region. The panel also looks at the impact of internal and external forces and contexts on internationalization of higher education.

 

Work, Internship, and Volunteer Abroad: Wednesday 1 June 12:45pm - 2:15pm
Rebekah Gilchrist, Natalia Piedrahita, Diana Pilling of Australian Internships will be representing at this Poster Fair about the changing landscape of education abroad which includes increased student interest in experiences involving global learning through work, internships, and volunteering abroad.

 

More than an International Student Teaching Placement - A Collaborative Partnership: Wednesday 1 June 3:30 - 5pm
Mary Hurwood of the Queensland University of Technology will be one of the representatives highlighting important findings, perspectives, and academic inquiries to stimulate collaboration and provide tangible professional resources and educational understanding for attendees.

Building Effective Consortia to Advance Internationalisation: Friday 3 June 2:15 - 3:15pm
Jennie Lang, Pro-Vice-Chancellor International of the University of New South Wales will co-present with several other countries on the pros and cons of consortia and explore opportunities for improved collaboration.


Attracting Fresh Talent: Immigration Policies and the International Student: Friday 3 June 3 3:30pm - 4:30pm
Mark Darby, Education Counsellor at the Embassy of Australia, will present on Australia's policies on graduate employment that aim to enhance the country's labour force but have recently acted to decouple international education and immigration. Share views on this controversial theme.
