Project Scope:
When we initially sat down with the Kaaks to look at their project they were interested in a new home further back on their property. When the ballpark construction cost estimate for the new 3,200 sq ft home came in over their budget...the Kaak's had us look at a renovation to their existing home.
One of David's main concerns was that he did not want it to be just a renovated old farmhouse with crooked floors and crooked walls! Vicky wanted to make sure their home still retained the traditional "farmhouse look".
As you can see by the pictures, it was an "Extreme Makeover". When completed their were no crooked floors and crooked walls, and actually it was just like a new house with the traditional farmhouse look. Just as important...the project came in on time and within budget!
This home features a new 910 square foot poured concrete basement. The first floor has a living room with a woodstove, a family room, front entry, large kitchen, laundry room, powder room, spacious master bed and bathroom suite and a grilling porch.
The second floor features 3 additional bedrooms, a computer gaming area, two full baths and plenty of walk-in closet space. The exterior of this home overlooks the beautiful Stamping Ground countryside.
