"Inscrutably involved, we live in the currents of universal reciprocity."

`Martin Buber`

Greetings!,

A giant THANK YOU to everyone who helped raise funds for the Great Human Race! We had a wonderful timgreat human race 2012e at the event, and are now able to invite more than 100 kids, who couldn't otherwise afford it, to join us at this year's International Festival. The kids won't just get  transportation, admission and food, they'll gain a great experience, awareness of the world and our area's diversity, and a direct connection with their multicultural neighbors. Thanks again for helping make this happen!

There's a lot going on at International Focus this month: We're launching our new website with ongoing event listings, as well as a resource database for everything international in the Triangle. Also, registration for the 27th International Festival of Raleigh will open in just over a week. Mark your calendar for a GREAT event September 28 through 30!

Please join us on April 20 as the NC Museum of Natural Sciences opens their fabulous new wing. International Focus is helping kick off the festivities, and twenty-one of our Ethnic Groups will participate in a fun and moving parade tribute to multiculturalism and global science.

We're also partnering with Wake County, Wake Tech, and the Morrisville Chamber of Commmerce to bring you newly released data from the 2010 Census on Wake County's forein born population. Dont miss this great information about how our area is growing and diversifying.

See you there! Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy the resources and event listings in this issue of International Focus News, and I wish you and yours a wonderful spring!

Very best wishes,

Clodagh Bastian

Executive Director
