Upcoming Course on Pod/Video casting in Kilkenny
With the rise of widely availabile free website blogging platforms, creative people including musicians, dancers, poets, visual artists & craft makers, even galleries hosting public talks, are beginning to realise that the web can offer valuable potential in hosting audio and video creative work practices to offer to growing online audiences. These might include creative people sharing their works or skills online, including music, events, recorded artists' talks and interviews, poetry etc, to share online to wider audiences.
Buildng on the two previous ArtLinks Blogging for the Arts Courses, ArtLinks is happy to announce that ArtLinks member Ken McGuire, previous winner of Podcaster of the year, will be returning to host a one day practical workshop on pod/video-casting. Ken will be joined by film-makers, Alan Slattery and John Morton, to cover recording, editing and best platforms to use on the web.
Please contact Cathy Fitzgerald, if you are interested in attending this one day course - information of your skill level, what video or audio equipment you have, if any, and what type of information you wish to upload to the web would be helpful in planning this course.

NEWS FOR CREATIVE BLOGGERS: 2 DAY WORDPRESS CAMP, KILKENNY
Ken McGuire has always recommended the use of the most popular blog platform Wordpress in his courses. ArtLinks has just heard that WordPress Camp is coming to Kilkenny for 2 days, on the 6 & 7 of March at Langtons, John St, Kilkenny. While this is not a free seminar, it is reasonably priced at €40 for the 2 day event, with lunch included. Both beginner and intermediate bloggers will be catered for and there will be WordPress Genius (experts) on hand for personal queries. I would highly recommend all interested to attend - the format will be similar to the two former Podcamp events, with lots of chances to meet others and be inspired about how easy it is to share your work professionally online.
