Welcome to the ArtLinks Monthly e-Newsletter
A regular Art News and Information Bulletin from the participating ArtLinks Partner Counties: Co Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford, Wexford & Wicklow

Hello Everyone,

Events and activities for the Christmas season are rapidly filling up the ArtLinks Calendar and Noticeboard. Do add your news if you have something planned.  Also the NEW Weekly email digest is now going out every Monday to members and others interested in the Arts in the South East. Have you signed up to receive it yet? It takes only a second to do so, instructions are below - you will then not miss any news, events or opportunities.

If you own a gallery, organise local drama, music, film or other shows do make use of the free service offered by the ArtLinks site to login and post your news. Its great to see recently the growing number of members listing their courses on the Noticeboard, already there are some very interesting courses planned for 2010. And what is also quite exciting to see, is that the ArtLinks Forum is now being used by members to co-ordinate new Art groups; a new film production group, SAW, who are using a RED camera has started in Kilkenny and others interested in the Arts in Gorey are also using the ArtLinks forum to connect with each other. In these changing times, the value of the extensive 1300+ network that is now ArtLinks will become more apparent as an effective way to share skills and build local forms of art support and initiative.

Christmas markets and craft fairs are a great way to enjoy and support our fellow local art and craft makers. In Carlow, I have just heard news that the Beam Centre in Bagenalstown is having a Craft Fair tonight evening (3 Dec), and that Borris House is having a 2 day Craft fair (5-6 Dec), as is Carlow's Delta Centre, with a Light Display in their Sensory Gardens (5-6 Dec). Duckett's Grove, also in Co. Carlow, is having a craft/food fair (12-13 Dec). The Norman Gallery in Co. Wexford, has a special Christmas exhibitionKilkenny Art Office 'The Market' opening this weekend (5 Dec) and the new Kilkenny Arts Office (76 John St) has organised a special one day event - 'The Market' for this Sat (5 Dec) showing a selection of fine affordable crafts with artisan foods from 10.30am - 6pm. The new Made in Kilkenny fine craft group has a Pop Up Shop open now in Kilkenny and the Wexford Arts Centre Annual Applied Arts Show 'Gifted' also  opens on the 5th Dec.  And in the spirit of Christmas, musicians are also gathering for a charity night fundraiser for the Good Shepherd Centre, at the Parade tower, Kilkenny Castle this Friday (4 Dec), led by ArtLinks musician member and Mayor, Malcolm Noonan. Check out the ArtLinks Calendar for more event details, all posted by the growing ArtLinks community.

So lots of creativity to enjoy, celebrate, and gift to others.

Best wishes to all,
