Welcome to the ArtLinks e-Newsletter A regular Art News and Information Bulletin from the participating ArtLinks Partner Counties: Co Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford, Wexford & Wicklow
Hi Everyone,
There has been a lot of work over the last six weeks in organising the new Spring ArtLinks 2009 courses, many with our new partners; Visual Artists Ireland, Myriad Dance, Waterford Healing Arts Trust, Eigse, VISUAL and Kilkenny's Watergate Theatre. All ArtLinks brochures have been sent out (if you haven't received yours, please login and check that your current address is correct - more brochures are available at your local arts office). See the list of Courses below, many are offered for the first time in the South East (and remember that many of our previous courses can been seen again in our growing online ArtLinks Archive).
To immediately reserve a place for t hese courses, please go to the Course page of www.artlinks.ie and fill in the online booking form. Your place is confirmed once payment is received. Please make out payments to 'ArtLinks - Kilkenny Co. Council' (excluding Myriad Dance courses, in which you should book and pay to Myriad Dance directly at 053 9174665). We encourage all to make reservations and payments at the earliest convenience as places are limited and it helps with the administration involved - please do not leave paying for courses on the day of the course if at all possible.
I'm also delighted to share that the ArtLinks website received a Merit Award at the 2009 eGovernment Awards. We can all be proud that the website is being recognised as an inclusive, innovative and interactive resource for our local communities- thanks again to all those involved and for the ideas submitted by members.
By the way, a new feature has been added on the website. You can now sign up for automatic information ( RSS feeds) for both ArtLinks News and Events on the homepage of www.artlinks.ie. This means you will never miss an ArtLinks News or Event item again and lessens the administration from this end. You'll notice the RSS feed logo on many websites today; it is a very popular web feature that brings new items straight to your feed reader without you having to remember to check your favourite websites for the latest news. You may have noticed for example that we use a RSS feed on the homepage of the ArtLinks website that brings in all the Arts Council news for example. Read more here.
Do remember that attending courses can not only be a great investment for developing your practice but also a great means to gain support through meeting others in your area. Hope to see some of you at the ArtLinks Spring courses soon.

Cathy Fitzgerald ArtLinks Director and Member PS a tip! Do you want an item to appear on the homepage of ArtLinks, logon and put an item on the ArtLinks Forum |

Remember to use the ArtLinks Archive!
Visit the Archive here
From the very beginning of the ArtLinks Programme, ArtLinks had a vision of building an online archive on the very valuable ArtLinks Courses delivered in the region and share the legacy of this knowledge to all.
The aim was to create the ArtLinks Archive - a place to share course notes across the wider ArtLinks community. It's innovative as it is modelled on the Wikipedia & Creative commons licence models (course material is licensed for educational, not commercial use). This means that both ArtLinks and ArtLinks members can contribute, as it not only the course tutors who have have a wealth of knowledge to share, but the participants as well.
We now have slide-show presentations and links to other informaton on the following topics (more will be loaded in time) and the best thing is you can now participate and add to the Archive when you login.
Note: The ArtLinks Archive will never replace the real experience of the ArtLinks Courses & Workshops; the tutors knowledge or the shared value of networking with other members. We encourage all members to attend courses when they can as an important investment in their creative practices.
