bringing the Arts together in the South East
Welcome to the ArtLinks ebulletin A regular Art News and Information bulletin from the participating ArtLinks Partner Counties: Co Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford, Wexford, Wicklow
Hi all,
We begin 2008 having over 500 creative practitioners profiled online with ArtLinks.ie and our ArtLinks Events calendar is already filling up with members exhibition, course and event news!
The beginning of the year also brings local funding opportunities from the partner ArtLinks Arts Offices. Most of the Arts Offices have begun to invite applications for various awards but please keep checking your local Arts Office sites and artlinks.ie in the coming weeks; I have put links on the right hand side. There is always competition for funding and more people have been alerted to these opportunities from our recent Applying for Funding courses. Tips on the Do's and Dont's of Applying for Funding, by one our panellists, Fergus Sheil, are available on our Archive Page.
We are inviting people who are involved in amateur or professional Drama and Theatre groups to register with ArtLinks, to send in their ideas for the Spring ArtLinks courses (see more below). Also, do help expand the ArtLinks directory by letting any local drama/theatre groups or performers you know, know about ArtLinks. Encourage them to register so they can be invited/involved in upcoming courses and be more aware of others working locally in this field.
A free event, , is being organised in Kilkenny on 8 March, at the Parade Tower, Kilkenny Castle and may be of interest to all in the South East - you may wish to get involved as a speaker or attend. CreativeCamp is an informal conference /gathering on Business, Technology and Creativity, where entrepreneurs and people
working in the technology and Internet sectors meet to network and
learn from each other. CreativeCamp extends an invitation to
musicians, artists and all other creatives who want to explore the use
of new media to promote their work and communicate their passion. Some of talks already listed include: 'Writing and promoting your Book with Social Media', 'Branding an Arts Organisation from the Inside'. The organisers are looking for more speakers, visit CreativeCamp for more information or to register.
Best wishes for all your creative work and projects in 2008,

 Cathy Fitzgerald, ArtLinks ArtLinks Director

Drama / Theatre ArtLinks Courses in Spring 2008 - your ideas needed! If
you are involved in an amateur drama group, drama teaching, or professional
theatre practice/writing, performance including comedy, event management, etc , do write in and tell us
what you would like to see in the courses. In the Autumn, we are
holding courses on Film and already the film community has been quick
off the mark sending in ideas and even some have sent CV's in case we
are looking for panellists. Remember, we were able to bring some expert
teachers to the Music courses, so let us know who you want to come to the
South East to extend your practice.
Send ideas to Cathy at info@artlinks.ie or C/o Kilkenny Arts Office, 72 John St, Kilkenny. Or post ideas to create discussion amongst drama /theatre members, on the ArtLinks.ie Forum webpages
