Caritas is as a cooperative effort of several churches in downtown Sarasota in providing emergency assistance. While maintaining its own identity, each church complies with general policies and standard procedures, mutually agreed upon and accepted and uses its own budget in meeting the needs of the clients interviewed. All contribute to the Caritas Pantry located in the First Baptist Church facility on Main Street.

Since resources are limited, the primary purpose of the organization is to provide temporary, emergency help to those who find themselves in acute financial need. Caritas has provided temporary shelter for the homeless, assistance with utilities, and help with rent or mortgage payments in crisis situations, as well as food items from the Caritas Pantry.

First Presbyterian Church is proud to be one of the five churches involved in helping our local residents in crisis situations.

Robert plays guitar, banjo, harmonica, penny whistle and Indian flute. He sings American songs that warm the heart and uplift the spirit, like

Somewhere Over The Rainbow, When You Wish Upon A Star, You Are My Sunshine, Pennies From Heaven, Sentimental Journey, Young At Heart, On The Sunnyside Of The Street and more.

 

He performs regularly at retirement communities and senior living centers including; Palmer Ranch, Summerville of Venice, Plymouth Harbour , The Fountains at Lake Pointe Woods, Sunset Lake Village, Bella Vita, Ashton Place and others.

 

Robert has recorded and performed with Peter, Paul & Mary, Pete Seeger and Tom Chapin. He has been seen and heard on national

television.
