woman in prison photoThis Thursday, February 19, 2009 the women of Redeem-Her will be showing a short documentary about life in prison for the women of the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility in Clinton, NJ.  This documentary was filmed inside the prison in 2003 and was a Cinemax Reel Life documentary.  It was on the short list for an Oscar that year.

The documentary will be viewed on the big screen at the Family Life Center at the First United Methodist Church located at 129 Chestnut Street, Toms River, NJ  08753.  Following the screening, there will be an open discussion with the women whose stories are told in the movie.  Our panel represents women ranging in age from 22 to 42, one of whom was released from EMCFW 4 years ago, another six months ago, and another only 3 weeks ago.

The event will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm.  Light refreshments will be served and there is reserved seating available for members of the media.  Admission is free, however we do ask that you consider a donation to Redeem-Her to support our work.  Click here for more information.
