Happy New Year!

As 2007 comes to a close, we have much to be thankful for at Redeem-Her.  We celebrate 3 years of women helping women, now going stronger than ever.  It really is true, that the best help is from women who have been there.  We know what is needed simply because we are not that far removed.  Some of us are still  in a terrible struggle, but we make it through together.  The helping is healing.  That's the concept behind Redeem-Her.  Both the women giving and the women receiving get something out of it.  And the community gets truly rehabilitated women.  It is a grand experiment that's working.  I hope you believe in it as much as we do.  If you do, won't you think about helping us with our yearend budget?  The holidays are our most important fundraising period, and we still have a ways to go.  You really do make the difference.  In fact, we can't do any of it without you.  You can donate by clicking here.  Thank you for a wonderful year!

This Christmas, we provided 1,040 cards and over $425.00 in postage.

Every holiday season, the women of Redeem-Her spearhead a project called "Christmas Comes in Prison, Too".  Although not widely publicized, this project has a wide impact.  Christmas Comes in Prison, Too is one of the ways that we are able to give back to the women who are where we have been.  We provide four blank holiday cards with envelopes and postage included, to as many incarcerated women in New Jersey as we can.

christmas comes in prison too logoThis project is critically important because often by the time a woman's choices and behaviors lead her to prison, she has estranged herself from her family and has been emotionally and physically absent from her children.   Hearts are hurt, relationships are broken and walls are built.  Often the women are genuinely remorseful and desire family reconciliation, but don't know how to take the first step.   The holidays present a unique opportunity for them to approach their children and families in a non-confrontational way through a holiday card.

But not a single card would have been sent if not for your generous support.  As the holiday season comes to a close, we would like to ask each of you to please consider donating any leftover holiday cards or postage you may have, so we can stow them away for next year's project.  You can send your donations to:
