Greetings!
It has been a very exciting summer in the life of Redeem-Her. As you might imagine, one of the consequences for a woman who has been incarcerated is the loss of her children. Children end up with family sometimes, but more often in foster care. Even when women are released and turn their lives around, proving themselves to the state in order to have their children returned to them is a long and daunting task that often goes on for years. For the past three years, in this organization of entirely women, I have been the only one in the group who has my children. Well, times they are changing! I am so excited to tell you that four of our women were permanently reunited with their children this summer! We are now officially an organization of women and children. My heart is just bursting with pride ... we now have 13 children home with their mothers!!!!
Along with the joy of reunification comes a lot of hard work and we want to be here to stand beside these mothers. The start of the school year brings financial strain for all of these moms who are just readjusting to supporting themselves and their children. We would like to ask you to please consider picking up a few extra supplies for school and dropping them off at our Point Pleasant location if you are able. Backpacks, lunch bags and all school supplies are needed. For those of you who are out of the area, financial donations specificed for school clothes and supplies or gift cards to Target or Walmart would be so appreciated.
I am also providing the names, ages and sizes of each of our children in need. For those of you who have your own children or grandchildren, I would ask you to please keep these children in mind as you go through your family's own clothing for the start of school and change of seasons. We will accept clothing and shoes for these children year round in Point Pleasant Beach. We are an organization of volunteers, and wo-manpower is always limitied, so we do ask to please label the bag for the specific child whose sizes match up with what you have.
Thank you so much for your continued support and for helping us to stand alongside these women as they daily take the next right step.
Sincerely,
Stacey Kindt
