2009 Pride T-Dance Information:
It may be snowing out right now, but we are already working hard on this year's Pride T-Dance for LGBT Seniors and Friends.
Mark your calendar:
Date: Sunday June 7th
Time: 3:30pm
Location: Holiday Inn Brookline
Each month we will bring you more information on the dance including opportunities to volunteer or be a sponsor. Look for the Pride section of "Do Tell."
2009 Dance Committee:
Would you like to be a part of our 2009 Dance Committee? We guarantee you will have a great time. The 2008 Dance Committee (pictured above) will attest to that!
Dance Committee Responsibilities:
- - Meets once a month (Tuesday evenings in JP)
- - Plans details for the dance (food, music, decorations, program)
- - Oversees Dance Committees (decorating, sponsors, advertising)
- - Serves as 'Hosts & Hostesses' the day of the dance

LGBT Aging Project endorses the Mass Trans Bill
The Aging Project is proud to support an important piece of legislation that would add transgender-inclusive language to the state's non-discrimination and hate crimes laws. The bill, "An Act Relative to Gender Based Discrimination and Hate Crimes," is currently before the state legislature.

Boston Conservatory Invites LGBT Seniors to preview opera Cendrillon (Cinderella)
Those who have attended a meal at Cafe Emmanuel know what a treat it is when students from the Boston Conservatory perform. The Conservatory has invited LGBT Seniors to be their special guests to preview their current production of Cedrillon (Cinderella).
Details: Wednesday February 4th (tonight). 7:45pm. Boston Conservatory Theater, 31 Hemenway St, Boston
Director will speak before the show. Check in at the box office by 7:45pm and tell them you are with the LGBT Aging Project.

Special Cafe Emmanuel / Out to Brunch Presentation:
The Climate Project
Come to Cafe Emmanuel on Thursday Feb 19th to see a special presentation of "The Climate Project." This is Al Gore's slide show that is based on the movie "An Inconvenient Truth." The presentation will be led by Helen Waldorf, an energy and environmental consultant who was trained by Al Gore to present this show.
Luncheon will precede the presentation. Reservation Required:

LGBT Seniors from Jamaica Plain Needed for Memoir Project
An 8-week memoir writing workshop will begin the first week in March for residents of Jamaica Plain. The Memoir Project is a collaboration between The Elderly Commission and Grub Street Writing Center. The aim of the project is to capture the vibrancy and diversity of stories from the lives of elders living in each community. The stories are published at the completion of the project in an anthology. Contact The LGBT Aging Project if you are an LGBT Senior (60 or over) who lives in Jamaica Plain.
