Rainbow of Kids Club - Summer Fun & Safety
Every Saturday Rene and her staff take the Rainbow of Kids Club on an adventure.
July is no exception! From a Scavenger Hunt to the Old Tyme Rootbeer Shop to Barnes & Noble story time, the "Slice of Chico" and swimming at the Paradise Community Pool the kids will be enjoying some wonderful summer fun all month long.

We all enjoy fun summer activities but you have to be careful of the heat here in the valley. Here are 6 Summer Heat Safety Tips we all should follow.
1) Drink lots of water: 8 glasses a day 2) Dress lightly: Cotton is best 3) Rest in the shade: Avoid over exposure by taking a break 4) Wear a hat: Cover those little ones soft cheeks 5) Wear sunglasses: Avoid serious eye damage 6) Swim with a buddy: It's just smart
Have questions about the Rainbow of Kids Club? Please, contact Rene Tousant to learn how your child can join in the fun. |
E Waste Drop Off July 17th @ ARC Stores
What are you suppose to do with that annoying old computer collecting dust in the garage or that funky VCR hiding in the back of the closet? You know they have toxic chemicals that should be disposed of properly or you risk polluting but exactly how do you dispose of it all? Well, you bring it to the ARC Store! Of course!!
Both ARC Stores in cooperation with WTP will be hosting an "E-Waste Drop Off" Day Sat, July 17th from 9am to 1pm.
"Basically, we'll accept anything with a plug." Assures Brenda Easter, ARC Store manager. "Bring all your obsolete electronics and we'll dispose of it all in accordance with State Regulations. We'll take your CRT's (TV's, monitors, laptops), all universal waste like radios, VCR's, keyboards and cell phones. Basically anything with a plug!"
- Chico ARC Store @ 2020 Park Avenue - Oroville ARC Store @ 2745 Oro Dam Blvd
Clean out all that annoying junk! Support the Arc! Support the planet! All at the same time!!
WTP is a California Approved Collector / Recycler Permit #101162. They can be contacted at 1.888.889.0101. Funds raised by this event will stay local and benefit the ARC's Family Support Programs! Have questions? Call one of the ARC Stores 343.3666 or 532.1272

Participants are engaged in a variety of constructive activities that aid in acquiring self help skills....like the bi-weekly art class run by local artist Alan Carrier.
Many of the Chico & Oroville ADP clients entered their art pieces in the Silver Dollar Fairs "Lode of Art" competition and many won ribbons!

Robert won a First Place Blue Ribbon for his art work and he wasn't the only one! Pictures of the winners have been posted on our Facebook Page. Check them out!
