Rainbow of Kids Club Enjoys Exploring
Every Saturday, the Family Support
staff plan educational and fun activities for special needs children and
their siblings. Offering varied recreational and social experiences. April brought better weather and an opportunity for fun outdoor activities for the Rainbow of Kids Club.
The kids took a trip to the Chico Creek Nature Center. The center offers kids of all ages a place to
interact with nature, discover Bidwell Park's diverse ecosystem and
learn about preserving this natural resource.
The kids and Family Support instructors explored the center's exhibits and enjoyed petting the rabbits and a tortoise. After the tour everyone pitched in and helped clean up the trails around the center in honor of Earth Day. You can see more pictures of the Rainbow of Kids Club adventures on our Facebook Page. There are some adorable shots of the kids dancing the Hokey Pokey with the instructors! Oh and the sack race, too!
If you have questions about the ROKC, please, contact Rene Tousant.

We are happy to say the Oroville Adult Day Program is growing! Just like it's Chico counterpart, the Oroville ADP includes both center
based and community based experiences. Plus vocational readiness
and work experience in the ARC Store. Instructors engage clients in a variety of
constructive activities that aid in acquiring self help skills.

Between educational classes, entertaining activities and field trips the ADP clients stay very busy interacting with peers, instructors and the community. "The ADP staff is always looking for new activities for the clients," says Cindy Roy ADP Supervisor,"We recently added a Problem Solving Support Group twice a week that the clients are benefiting from greatly. They're learning new coping skills and tensions are reduced after the class." If you have questions about the Oroville Adult Day Program, please, contact Cindy Roy or Ed Grzanich. |

Oroville ADP 2nd Anniversary
Believe it or not but it has been two years now since the ARC of Butte County established an Adult Day Program and ARC Store in Oroville.
For the passed decade the ARC of
Butte County has focused on strengthening families with special needs
members. Day to day life, with its frequent demands can be stressful for
each of us however these stresses greatly increase when a family is
faced with the extraordinary challenges of parenting an individual with
special needs. There has long been a need in the Oroville community for an ADP and the ARC was pleased to finally be able to help.
In honor of this special anniversary the ARC Store will be offering special discounts and free coffee from the ARCoffee cafe during the week of May 17th. Please, check our Facebook Page for regular announcements...we wouldn't want you to miss any of the fun.
