ADP Client Close Up- David Meeker
"Dave is a very dedicated artist. Each week I am greeted with his large smile and enthusiasm." shares Alan Carrier, Adult Day Program Art Instructor, "He loves to paint, sculpt, create paper collages and draw. Dave's style abstract expressionistic in nature. His art works have been on exhibit in Redding, Chico and at Butte College. Dave receives a lot of encouragement and support for his art from his mother."
"David was so thrilled to receive money for one of his paintings. He could not be happier. How thoughtful you all are at the Arc." wrote Dave's mother Betty Meeker, in a thank you note she sent to the Adult Day Program Staff after Dave sold a piece of his art in the Chico ARC Store.
David is just one of the ADP clients who are entering art pieces in the Butte County Fair "Fine Art Exhibit". This will be the second year that ADP clients have entered this competition. There were several ADP winners last year. Good luck to you all! Questions about the Adult Day Program or Art Classes? In Chico, please, contact Nelson or Dodi.

Donate your old computer to the ARC and Patti Thomas, Independent Living Program Coordinator, will make sure it does to a worthy home.
Many ARC families can't afford a computer for their children, our libraries are cutting back on their hours and many of our schools have limited computer access.
Your donation of an old computer could open a whole new world to an eager bright child. With proper adult supervision a computer can help a child gain valuable skills and knowledge.
"Every child should have access to a computer," explains Thomas, "For research on school projects to expanding their world vision. Every children deserves a chance to learn."

ARC Salutes ADP Supervisor Cindy Roy
Congratulations to Cindy Roy for her recent promotion to Oroville Adult Day Program Supervisor.
Cindy has worked with the Arc for 10 years and has always gone above and beyond everyones expectations.
"About a month ago, an ILP client came to the Oroville ADP distraught looking for his ILP Instructor" shares Bonnie Bethel, Independent Living Program Coordinator, "Cindy went out of her way to track me down and find the instructor even though she was very busy with her own clients. The following week the same client came back in to thank Cindy for saving his life. Come to find out he was dealing with suicidal thoughts. Thanks to Cindy's diligence we were able to help this client when they really needed it the most!"
"Cindy is truly one of the nicest women I have ever had the pleasure of knowing," says Brenda Easter, ARC Store manager, "Her friendly, pleasant demeanor while working with the ARC clients is genuine and never wavers. She really is a delightful woman to work with."
Thank you Cindy for all hard work and compassion.
