The Arc's Oroville Day Program officially opened on March 10th. "It was a long process, but The Arc Emporium certainly is a beautiful complex," said Nelson Corwin, ADP Coordinator and Arc Associate Director.
The new site a combination of Adult Day Program, antique/thrift store and ARCoffee Connection cafe. The consumers work in the store and the cafe. They also attend different classes in addition to having access to a computer lab, cash register, television with DVD player and a dry erase board for teaching purposes. In addition to the classes there is a game room and library reading room.
"The Game Room is very popular," explains Corwin "With air hockey, table tennis, foosball, various board games and a dartboard it gets lots of use. We are currently looking for a small pool table and shuffle board." If you are able to donate one of these items, please, call Corwin at 891-5865 ext.#201
Hope to see you soon, at the new Arc Emporium, we'd love to show you around!

New ILS Coordinator ~ Ray Fennell
Hello everybody, my name is Ray Fennell and I am the new ILS Program Coordinator at Arc. I am a Chico State graduate and I have lived in Butte County for over 25 years. My first job in town was with the Chico Clipper when it was just the fledgling organization from which our current B-Line Transit system evolved. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., and attended Rutgers University.
I have worked for Arc for 6 years starting out as an ILS instructor. Then it was my good fortune to work as the Adult Day Program Supervisor for about 3 years. The ADP participants, both staff and customers, are the friendliest and nicest people you will ever meet. The same thing goes for the Thrift Store staff with whom they work closely.
Now I have been given the opportunity to make a difference in a different way. Returning to the ILS Program has enabled me to reconnect with old friends and past acquaintances while at the same time presenting new and exciting challenges. I will expend every effort to provide the best service to our customers and to all the FNRC Coordinators.
I am grateful and proud of this chance to serve and to continue to make Arc the great organization it is.

The Arc Emporium Thank you
Thank you to everyone who made the Arc Emporium Ribbon Cutting a big success! Located at 2745 Oro Dam Blvd, the new Oroville site houses Arc Programs for developmentally disabled clients, a large thrift/antique store and the "ARCoffee Connection" with free wifi.
"There is a great need in the Oroville area for our services." explains Michael McGinnis, Arc Executive Director, "The new satellite office will offer a wide variety of services just as we have had in Chico for over 50 years. We are pleased that the new facility is finally a reality."
Proceeds from these retail endeavors stay local and help fund the Arc Programs.
