An eager RT group
of clients and Instructors got together to enjoy a tour of Chico's biggest fire station, Station 1. L to R: Smiles from Colleen Nelson, Craig Roberts, Tyler Kinnee, Kayla Foster, Katie Cucinella, and Savannah Williams
The clients listened intently as the firemen explained exactly what happens when 911 is called. The clients asked many thoughtful questions. The firemen allowed all their guests to try on some of their gear when several children mentioned they wanted to be firefighters.
"The crew that assisted the ARC could not have been nicer and more welcoming," shared Colleen Nelson, Recreational Therapy Coordinator, "We were encouraged to stick around and take pictures when the firemen had to go out on a call. A great time was had by all. "

Happy Boss's Day at ILP
September 16th was Boss's Day. The Independence Living Program Coordinator's decided to have some fun. Bonnie Bethel, Colleen Nelson, Hollie White-Ingle and Peter Bernson surprised their supervisor Patti Thomas with a special lunch with all the amenities. "There's nothing like taco salad on paper plates, sparkling cider in crystal glasses and plastic forks on fine linen napkins. It was part picnic, part fine dinning." explained Peter Berson, ILP Coordinator, "The best part was that we actually surprised her. That's not easy when your Boss is five feet away."
