From the Chairman of the Board:
It's been a busy month as the Governmental Affairs Committee traveled down to Springfield and back to gather the most up-to-date information as Jim and Dawn continue to work on your behalf to keep you informed of the governmental issues facing businesses today. Then, just a "tiny bit" of snow arrived, and under the leadership of Glen Andler, the entire Public Works Department cleared streets and removed snow. It was business as usual. Glen, the Chamber thanks you for all of your contributions over the years from the many special events to blizzards and everything in between. We wish you well in your retirement this April 15! Writing this article really has me working up quite the appetite with so many choices to choose from. What do you feel like eating? Click here for some suggestions: Have you done your 3/50 Project? As part of the 3/50 Project just this past month, I had lunch at a local restaurant, visited a local dentist and a local eye doctor. Now I just need to find a local doctor with specialization in hearing. My wife welcomes any recommendations. The February After-Hours hosted by The Eye SIte at 1717 W. Golf Road was very nice and we thank them for hosting this networking event. All businesses are invited to come on out to our March After-Hours: MB Financial Bank at 15 E. Prospect Avenue on Thursday, March 24 (note date change) 5-7 p.m. In closing, I'd like to share what others have to say about being a part of the Mount Prospect Chamber of Commerce, and I welcome hearing from you (to be published in a future newsletter!) "Being in the Mount Prospect Chamber has been a great tool to have as part of our marketing bag. It's not the only tool but ihas been a great source to get to meet and know the people who make up the businesses in our community. They bring the neighborhood aspect to the Village and I enjoy being one of the neighbors where I work and live."
