The successful candidate must possess well developed written and oral communication skills, presentation skills, analytical skills, and research skills, combined with the ability to work independently, as part of a team and to develop effective working relationships with stakeholders. These qualifications would normally have been acquired through graduation from a recognized university with a degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or Economics, combined with experience in business development. A degree in Craft, Fine Arts, or Design would be considered an asset. Equivalencies may be considered.

Demonstrable innovative teaching and learning strategies, and a strong understanding of the history and theory of fibre-based art are essential attributes for the successful candidate.
QUALIFICATIONSThe successful candidate will have an MFA or equivalent degree or an equivalent combination of education and stellar professional experience, a significant exhibition/production record, demonstrated excellence in teaching. Fibre at the post-secondary level for a minimum of three (3) years, and demonstrated administrative experience and committee service. In addition, the successful candidate must have strong critical/theoretical knowledge and an understanding of contemporary Fibre Practice and its relationship to contemporary art/craft theory. The successful individual will also have general knowledge of all aspects of the discipline and specific expertise and technical skills in two or more of the following areas: weaving, tapestry and other fibre structures; fabric printing and surface exploration; dying processes. Extensive digital skills and an understanding of the integration of digital processes in relationship to fibre practice and theory will be a requirement for this position.

A picture really is worth a thousand words. And a good picture is worth even more. We still have spaces available in our product photography service for this year so this is your chance to have a professional product shot done.
To be eligible for this service:1) your product must have been approved at one of INTRD's Product
Review meetings, and
2) we have not done a photo of your products within the past two years.
All you need to do is send us a sample of the product and we will arrange to have the photography done at no charge to you. Chose the product or product grouping you really want to showcase. If your product is small and you want a product grouping shot please limit the number of items to 3 so that the picture doesn't get cluttered, and keep the items themed in some way.
If you have any questions about what products to send, just give Janet Costigan a call at 729-7071. Also, if your product(s) is fragile make sure it is properly wrapped and packaged when bringing or sending it to us so that it doesn't get broken in transit (use bubble wrap, lots of newsprint wrapping or packing peanuts).
While we own the copyright to all the photographs taken and reserve the right to use the images in our promotional activities, we also provide them to you for your use. We'll send you a CD with digital copies of the final photograph, in both a large file size suitable for print (for brochures, etc) and in a smaller web version perfect for putting on your website or blog. We will also take care of getting your product(s) back to you once the photography is completed, or you can drop by to pick them up if that is convenient for you.
