Greetings!

Congratulations to all athletes who participated and thank you so much for your support over the past weekend. The Guelph Triathlon - the 3rd stop in the Subaru Triathlon Series - was a huge success with over 2000 athletes and 2 sold out events - the Chariot Try-a-Tri and the Sprint Relay. A HUGE thank you to all volunteers from the 27th Guelph Scouts and the Waterloo Wild U16 Soccer Team for going above and beyond this weekend! The volunteer contributions are what make our event run smoothly! The athletes and volunteers are the heart and soul of this annual event and we hope you know how much we appreciate your attendance. The weather turned out better than expected and made for some excellent racing conditions.

We welcomed over 400 new triathletes across the line on Saturday in the Chariot Try-a-Tri. And then at the other end of the spectrum, veteran athlete, Len Gushe - a 49 year old doctor from Mattawa who has been racing for over 20 years - won the Guelph Olympic distance event on Sunday virtually wire to wire! It was a fantastic weekend of racing!

As always, thank you for your support and dedication to our sport. Our next stop is the Ironman 70.3 Mont-Tremblant this weekend and then Peterborough half iron distance and sprint events on July 8th! We look forward to seeing you all there for another fantastic race weekend!

Guelph Race Winners

Congratulations to our 2012 Race Winners!

Winning our Olympic Triathlon was veteran Len Gushe with an impressive time of 1:54:29! In the woman's race our winner was Kristen Marchant in 2:20:02! In the Olympic Duathlon our overall men and women's winners were Florian Ong and Jennifer Faraone. Well done! Our Olympic Swim Bike winners for the weekend were Alison Wiley and Richard Houldcroft. Winning our Olympic Relay race were the McMaster Mavericks! Congratulations!

Our overall Sprint Triathlon winner was David Sharratt with a time of 1:01:21! The overall women's winner was Erin Churchill with a time of 1:10:02! Well done! In this weekend's Sprint Duathlon David Frake took home first overall with Pamela Lawson taking home first for the women!

Our Sprint Swim Bike Winners were Sharon Harger-Grinling and Mike Alderice! The overall winning relay team was Helicopter Fancy Feast! Congratulations!

In our Chariot Try-A-Tri Willem Quosai took home first place with a time of 34:26 with Kirsten Vergara winning the women's race with a time of 38:33.

Polar RCX3/RCX5 with GPS Winners!

Thank you to Polar for their prize contribution! The overall amateur male and female Chariot Try-A-Tri winners in all Subaru Triathlon Series events will take home a Polar RCX3 with GPS valued at $350! The winners this weekend were Willem Quosai and Kirsten Vergara! Congratulations!

Cody Beals and Kristen Marchant were out top amateur male and female athletes in the Olympic Triathlon and each recieved a Polay RCX5 with GPS valued at $530! Thank You Polar!

At Peterborough next weekend the top amateur man and woman in the Half Triathlon with recieve a Polar RCX5 with GPS! Polar: Helping athletes improve their performance since 1977.

Lost Wetsuit
Lynn Douglas participated in the Sprint Triathlon yesterday, women's 50-54. When she went to retrieve her wetsuit from transition after the race it was missing. It is a Nineteen wetsuit with pink lettering, size Women's M with her name printed on the inside name tag. Peterborough Half Tri/Du & Sprint Tri/Du Saturday July 8, 2012 Beavermead Park Peterborough, On. Peterborough will be home to our annual Half Triathlon and Duathlon! Also this weekend Sprint Triathlon/Duathlon, Half Swim/Bike & Sprint Swim/Bike!
