Another season over and already we are looking forward to 2008! It's been busy around the office since we saw you last. We are spending alot of our time looking over the 2007 season in order to build upon the races for 2008. Over the course of the season we received quite a bit of feedback from our athletes. You told us what you liked, what you didn't and you also made suggestions. We listened to them all, commented on some and acted on others. One other great tool we use to gather much needed feedback is to present to you an

Athlete Survey

The survey is 47 questions in total. You don't have to fill it out all at once. You may go back and update existing responses until the survey is finished. Deadline for prize eligibility is December 08, 2007.
This survey is designed to help us gather information in order to better design our races to suit your needs. By helping Trisport and our sponsors collect this information you are contributing to the longevity of the sport you love. Please take a moment to complete the survey, your time is much appreciated!
New in 2008

What's Happening in 2008?

Things are already starting to take shape for 2008. You will see quite a few changes next year as we are also incorporating the new Ironman Muskoka 70.3.

First - I need to remind you that the schedule for 2008 is still tentative as we await city and town permits from all of our event locations. Click here for tentative schedule.

One of the first things you will notice is that we will have to say good-bye to a few races.
1- Belwood Lake will now be replaced with Owen Sound. We will have an Olympic distance triathlon and duathlon , a sprint tri and du and KOS duathlon. The feedback after the Owen Sound race weekend was so positive that we had to keep it in the line-up for 08. Owen Sound will fit nicely into the schedule here.

2- We also will have to give up on the idea of returning to Sherkston Shores in 08. The race was a popular one but unfortunately the Sherkston schedule and the triathlon schedule will not co-operate. The only weekends availbale to us are the ones during the tourist "shoulder season". With the acquisition of the 70.3 the race is no longer vaiable at this time.

For right now, that will be all we have to report.
Have no fear- we will keep you posted as more updates are confirmed!

Please take a moment to read a message from a  very well respected member of our triathlon community.

My name is Tammy. Some of you may know me as the past administrator of OAT (the OAT office once resided in my home for 4 wonderful years), a past member of the OAT Board of Directors, Janet Fraser's little helper on site at the Subaru Triathlon Series races or as the "girl in blue". I thought I would let you know of a little project that my husband Colin and I are working on.

We have decided to do the TRISPORT Half Ironman Relay in Peterborough, July 6 2008 to raise funds for Sunnybrook's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This has special meaning to us because our daughter Dakota sadly passed away this June 6, 2007, two days after she was born.

We have some exciting plans for 2008 in anticipation of our race. If you are interested in following our progress, we have created a group on "Facebook" called Dakota Skye: In Memory, where we are posting updates of our plans, and training progress.

Our donations page through Sunnybrook has just been launched. So, if you wanted some more information, and are not on "Facebook" , or wanted to donate to our cause- you can check out

We recognize that we need some assistance in making our fundraising efforts as successful as possible. We are forming a committee of 5-6 people to help us with media relations, sponsorship, graphic design and web development. If you have experience in these areas or have a genuine desire to contribute to our cause, please contact us ASAP.

We invite you to join our "Facebook" group(Dakota Skye Gravlev: In Memory). We also have plans to develop our own Tri for Dakota website to use as our main information forum. Until that time, if you are not a member of "Facebook" but would like to receive email updates, send me a quick email at  trifordakota@hotmail.com.

Thanks for your time.......and have a great off season!!

ff season!!!
