Chaverware April 2010 newsletter
Greetings!
Spring has sprung and many of you are in the heat of budgeting and preparing for the new fiscal year. We are preparing as well, with enhancements to both Chaverware™ and ChaverWeb™. We expect to be rolling out our next version of ChaverWeb™, 2.0, in a very short time which will include the ability of your members to view and pay their bill, view and edit their Yahrzeits and sign up online for events at your Synagogue.
Below you will see some of the highlights of the latest update for Chaverware 5. To take advantage of ChaverWeb you must be using the latest version of Chaverware 5. If you're interested in learning more about ChaverWeb™, please email me and I'll be glad to call you.

Double Your Annual Fund Revenue for $349!
brought to you by David Mersky
David A. Mersky is the Founder and Managing Director of Mersky, Jaffe & Associates, a consulting firm that works with congregations and other nonprofits to provide financial and human resource development solutions. www.merskyjaffe.com
One of the key goals of a development program for any nonprofit enterprise -and most especially a synagogue- is to create life-long donors. One way to do this is through the annual fund.
Most synagogues do not think in terms of an annual fund. They have a Kol Nidre Appeal, a Spring Gala, and many other event-based programs that tend to "nickel and dime" the members. It is death by a hundred solicitations.
Those congregations, however, who look at the donor first and think of the engagement of that individual or family holistically create a community of annual fund donors who assure the financial well-being of the synagogue because they want to do so. Annual fundraising is never about scarcity of resources nor constantly hounding people. Instead, it is about helping people connect with the congregation (and with each other) and asking them to share that which they have in abundance for the future of the synagogue, the people it serves, and the community in which it functions. Top 10 items from "Chaverware can do THAT? "
Each month we will present a capability of Chaverware that many customers are not using.
#4Cross Tab reports (mail merge from them)
- Do you want to send custom letters to your congregants and include historical donation information?
- Do you want to highlight in a letter the different balances that might still be outstanding?
Through Chaverware's Cross Tab reports, you will be able to create a report that contains the information you are looking for and then export that information to Excel. Once it is exported to Excel, you'll be able to save that file and perform a mail merge accordingly. Each column of data that you have requested will be available as a merge field. |
