Chaverware 5
We now have many Chaverware 5 installations. If you are a participant in our CHUG (CHaverware User Group), you should notice more discussion and questions about Chaverware 5. Those who have upgraded are thrilled with the new features and are really enjoying using this version.  If you would like to upgrade to Chaverware 5, there are a few things that you need to know:

Hardware Requirements:
Pentium 4 with HyperThreading (HT)
Minimum 2.8 GHz
1 GB RAM

Most computers that are 3 years old or newer should satisfy the speed and HyperThreading requirement. The easiest way to check if your processor is a Hyper Threading processor is to press Ctrl-Alt-Del, when that comes up, click on the "Performance" tab.  You will see this:

HyperThreading

If you see two windows in the CPU Usage History area then you have Hyper Threading, if you see one window, you do not.

In order to do mail merge with Chaverware 5, you need at least Microsoft Word XP (2002)

Chaverware 5 DOES NOT need Vista to operate, it operates fine on either Windows XP or Windows Vista.

We still have not completed the documentation for Chaverware 5 so there is a little bit of a learning curve. But after a couple of days, you will feel like you've been using it for years!

Credit Card Processing
As many of you know, we provide built in credit card processing within Chaverware. The payment gateway that we use is Elavon (formally known as NOVA). Good news; because of the volume of business that we bring to Elavon, we have been able to negotiate an even better rate than previously. This rate is now based on the interchange rate with an "Adder". This allows you a much better understanding of what your processing chareges are. If you are already using Elavon, they will be moving your account over to this new rate structure automatically. If you would like to learn more about the changes and how they impact you, please contact Glen Green at Elavon ( 800-226-9332 x5311). If you are NOT currently processing credit cards directly in Chaverware you can learn more about it by reading the current rate sheet. If you have questions about how this integrates into Chaverware, please contact Rob Hirsch.
