| The latest Chaverware update, version 4.11 |
We are pleased to announce the release of Chaverware 4.11. This update contains a variety of enhancements and fixes as detailed below. Please read the directions below and follow them carefully. If you need help during this update, please call tech support at 800-242-8371.
Look for more news coming in the near future about Chaver-ware 5, new offerings from Circuits & Systems, and all kinds of good stuff!!
If you are running Chaverware 4.11 Build 489, you don't have to do anything now. To find out what version you are running, click on Help and About Chaverware
| Installation Instructions
All workstations MUST have administrative rights on the workstation prior to running the update.
- The first user who does the download, must do this while no one else is using Chaverware. You can find out who is using Chaverware by clicking on Tools, Active Users.
- To download the update, go into Tools, and Check for Updates. This will check the version you are running against what is on the internet, and only download it if you are running an older version.
- Once the update file is downloaded, you will need to restart Chaverware. This will execute the update program on your computer.
- Accept the defaults in the update wizard. Once the update is finished, you can now go back into Chaverware.
- The first person who logs into Chaverware after the update, also must do so exclusively. There will be a data version update that takes place at this point. Depending on the speed of your computer, speed of your network and amount of data that you have, this process could take from 2 minutes up to an hour. Be prepared for the hour version, and don't do this during a critical part of your day.
- Once the first person has logged into Chaverware, the rest of the staff can log in too. Each one will be prompted to run the update, and they should as above in item 3. No one will be allowed to enter Chaverware with a previous version once the update has been run on one computer

New Features:
- Added support for QuickBooks Online edition.
- Bouncing a payment applied to revenue now re-opens the invoice transaction so it can be re-paid. Invoices generated from these transactions will have to be manually deleted, if desired.
- Added support for Peachtree 2008 editions (excluding PRO).
Fixed Issues:
- The program can now detect orphaned adjustments properly.
- Fixed installation of Adobe Reader program on Windows Vista computers.
- Changed default installation path to c:\chaver4 to help with Windows Vista security issues.
- Changed format of "read me" document from "doc" to "rtf" which is compatible with Windows Vista.
- Fixed some issues installing and running under Windows Vista.
- Chaver-ware now correctly identifies data with orphaned adjustment records when updating.
- Moved the column order on "Billing Information Summarized by Family by Category" report. The columns are now displayed as following: Billed, Adjust, Net, Paid, Balance.
- Fixed typo in category setup warning message.
- Stopped data entry of currency information before the currency or numeric signs.
- Sub-categories created belonging to a restricted parent category will inherit the parent's restrictions.
- Message that offered to updated credit card entries did not have a yes/no option.
- Revised how unprocessed credit card entries are handled when modifying a stored credit card. If the stored credit card is being blanked out for whatever reason, no message will come up. If the stored credit card is modified you will only get the message to update unprocessed entries only if any exist.
- Fixed problem where modifying a stored credit card was not asking to update unprocessed transactions with the new information.
- Notes screen was showing up in taskbar.
- Revamped the Hebrew calendar controls for better consistency and to fix problems with holiday Torah portions.
- Position field can't be blanked out when editing multiple category links.
- If you modify invoices while a payment is in progress, the cash receipt screen updates with the changes when you go back in.
- When creating a new tribute, the tribute types are now listed alphabetically.
- Fixed problem when applying recurring payments proportionally that would leave a balance.
- Fixed problem using backspace key on deposit ticket id field if one was already filled in.
- Phone controls were defaulting to US instead of user's locale.
- Fixed problem with correction invoices not being created if the program was set to cash basis, but the invoice was generated on accrual.
- Fixed type mismatch error that would occur when entering a Hebrew date of death in the Yahrzeit screen.
- Fixed problem with database updates not identifying themselves on the splash screen.
- To make credit card filtering options easier to understand, the "Future" filter was changed to "Future unprocessed". A new option was added called "Current unprocessed". This is now the default and works like the "Unprocessed" option used to. The "Unprocessed" option now displays all unprocessed entries as determined by the date filters. The date filters are only displayed as appropriate for the selection.
- When entering a credit card payment the deposit account is set to the cash account defined with the credit card setup. This can no longer be changed.
- Fixed problem performing repairs on database files for companies other than the one pointed to by chaver4.ini that would not remove the flag that indicated the company had a bad file.
- When updating teacher names assigned to a class category, the program now excludes staff members added through the guardians' tab.
- Fixed error when typing into a drop down list.
