Riverside, CA- July 31st, Wednesday, 2008- (Riverside, Ca.) United Way of the Inland Valleys (UWIV) has several recent staff changes affecting Southwest County, announced Kevin J. McCarthy, president and CEO.
Kari Hollis
Kari Hollis, who has worked for UWIV for thirteen years as the Southwest County Regional Director and Assistant Vice President, has been promoted to Vice President of Community Matters. Hollis' new duties include oversight of the funds distribution process and agency relations. 
 
Hollis has been an active member of the Southwest County community since moving there in 1991 from San Diego. Prior to joining UWIV, she provided  public relations and marketing services for several local special events, including the Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival, Beach Boys Concert, Tractor Races, rodeos, Rod Runs and other events. One of her most memorable positions was working for the San Diego Super Task Force for two years organizing the first Super Bowl held in San Diego in 1988. She holds a bachelors degree in communications and public relations from California State University in Northridge.
Bruce Cripe
 
 
 Bruce Cripe,
who replaces Hollis as the Southwestern Region Director,  has been actively involved in the Temecula Valley since 1995 after retiring from the United States Marine Corp.  Cripe has served on the boards of the Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce, Susan G. Komen Foundation, American Red Cross and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). He is also a past-president of the Rotary Club of Temecula and was awarded the Citizen of the Year Award by the Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce in 2006. 
 John Roberts
 John Roberts,
has been named Vice President of Resource Development and Marketing. Roberts has been a volunteer for this United Way for five years with three of those years as a member of the Board of Directors. With a tremendous background in media sales and marketing, Roberts came to Southwest County in 2001 as the station manager for two new Clear Channel radio stations, KTMQ and KMYT. He also started the KZSW television station in Temecula as Vice President and General Manager.
