We Love Our Clients and They Love Us Too!

"Hi Jessica,
I recently faced the oh so familiar dilemma of feeling like I needed more of something while simultaneously thinking that I needed to scale back.  This time, it was kitchen utensils.  Too often when I cook, it seems that whichever tool I need is dirty, and, since I hate to wash dishes by hand, my solution is to buy more.  Before long, my drawer was overflowing and it still felt like I never had what I needed.  I recently came across a multipurpose tool called
Uni-tool, made by Joseph Joseph.  After buying two, I was able to confidently throw out four old, partially melted utensils and magically create more space in the drawer.  As I did, it reminded me of your emails, which I always look forward to reading.  Anyway, I just wanted to pass along my lucky find to you, since it seems like something you might appreciate."

Take care!

Junk Drawer Rehab
Neat and Tidy Junk Drawer
This can be yours!

The infamous Junk Drawer!  Most have one, but it doesn't have to be a mess.  In fact, it can be a utopia of mismatched items if you wish.

Here's how:
  1. Empty the Drawer.  Take everything out so you can see everything and clean out the drawer.

  2. Stuff Groupies.  Group like items together.  Items that have other homes in the house should get their items returned to those places.

  3. Think!  It may take a few extra minutes, but really think about how you use the items from this drawer.  Where and how should they be accessed?  Do you really need them?  Is the item replaceable if you should need it again?

  4. Ask How?  Ask how often you use something.  Only stuff used on a daily or weekly basis should be kept in a predominent location.

  5. Keepin' On With the Tidyness.  Use store bought drawer dividers/baskets to corral your items.  Keep in mind that  baggies, envelopes, rubber bands and binder clips can work well too.
Before and After Photos!

Many of you have been asking for Before and After photos...Thank you valued clients for giving permission for your spaces to be shared in hopes of helping someone else live simply organized!

Before: Dysfunctional Office Space
Before: Not sure we need to say too much about the before...photo seems to speak for itself.

After: Office that allows focus and creativity!
After: We purged years and years worth of outdated office supplies, old electroonics and computer equipment. After we create some room to breathe, we stripped old wallpaper and painted the wall a soothing neutral color. This particular client was now doing most things paperless so the the need for the multiple filing cabinets wasgone. Everything fit nicely into files drawers in the desk.e.
