 Testimonial

"Ta Da!!!!

An hour and 40 minutes until our guests arrive.  I am very proud of our staff for jumping on board with this make over, especially with the short time frame in which we decided to do this.  Fortunately most of them have known me for a while.

For the two of you, I must tell you this:  There is little in life that gets me as excited as when having the opportunity to work with people who are so incredibly amazing at what they do.

And to me, amazing  isn't just having talent, but it's a timeliness, energy, an ability to make things happen...when they decide it's time to happen.

You both bring such incredible energy to people like me.  It's energy like yours that sets the tone for people like my staff.  I don't think they would have believed me if I had to sell this one on my own. but the presence, energy, creativity and talent that you brought was what ultimately made this happen.

I am now very proud to bring people to our business home.  My team can now be proud of the space in which they work and in the end, they can continue to be their true and best selves.  Much like

both of you.

Have a great day and I will send more before and after pictures later.

You're The Best!

Pet odors...... Wow, they can be the biggest turn off!  If replacing carpets is not an option, what do you suggest?

Thanks!

Tricia,

Yes they can!  And I love animals to a fault so its often hard to tell sellers about this issue, but it's so important to remedy it prior to listing the house.  I always suggest a very good, professional cleaning of all the carpets.  If the dog sleeps on the furniture, have that steam cleaned too.  Wash any/all pet bedding, toys, etc.  If the dog lies on human bedding then that must all be washed as well.  Keep the dog bathed and brushed during the time the house is on market period to keep odor at a minimum.

I also suggest a deeping cleaning of every house (even without pets) prior to listing.  My motto is that No Surface is Safe!

After all that the home still smells, a new carpet and pad should be considered.

The concept of Home Staging is still quite new to the Centre County (and surrounding counties) real estate market. Some say they do not know what it is; others may have heard about it but had never done it before, and some have no idea what it is or why it's important.

When I say that I do Home Staging, I often hear: "Oh, so you're an interior decorator!"   In some ways I do use design, but I'm by no means an interior decorator or designer.

Do you know the real difference between Home Staging and Interior Decorating?

Interior decorating (not to be confused with Interior design) is the art of decorating a room according to the personal taste of the home owner. An interior decorator will take into account the desired theme and style of the person using the space and try to create an individual setting while focusing on the ease of upkeep and the functionalism. The main goal of the Interior Decorator is to create a tailored environment that will contribute to the happiness, well-being, and productivity of one person or family in particular.

Home Staging on the other hand is the act of preparing a private house for sale in the real estate marketplace. The goal of staging is to make a home appealing to the highest number of potential buyers,  and selling a property more swiftly and for more money. Staging techniques focus on improving a property's appeal by transforming it into a welcoming, attractive product that anyone might want.

5 main differences between Home Staging and Decorating

Decorating: to decorate according to your personal taste

Staging: to use neutral decoration; to appeal to as many as possible

Decorating: to add personal touches to your home decor

Staging: to eliminate almost everything that speaks about your personality

Decorating: to create personal comfort and functionality

Staging: to accentuate strong points of the property discounting the comfort of your day-to-day life

Decorating: to buy new furniture, accessories and decorative objects

Staging: to use the existing to the maximum

Decorating: your house is your haven

Staging: anybody can imagine living in your house and call it home

While Home Staging I do not decorate, I "undecorate". I am not creating a house of your dreams I am trying to create a place that anybody would like to call their home. It takes special knowledge and experience, a good understanding of the buyer and the market. I will decorate the home that you live in and I will stage the house that you sell.
