You know when the Realtor tells you that a property is "very interesting" that you are probably in for some kind of "treat".
I get very excited and love to see interesting homes....this usually makes the Realtors just chuckle.
Most recently I was called in to stage an old home in Bellefonte. Little did I know this house was hands down the spookiest listing I'd ever seen! And to see it in October at that!
Think of a really scary movie...start with the closed gate at the road, overgrown foliage and house completely hidden from the road. There was no driveway, only curbside parking. I had no choice but to walk through the scary gate just to see where the front door was located. Keeping my eyes forward and walking carefully, not knowing what might be jump out at me, I found the front door.
I must have almost turned and walked back to the car three times. Can you imagine if I had been a buyer?
Interesting doesn't even begin to describe this house. Eerie, scary, weird, or spooky would be much better descriptors!
For the first time ever, I was really nervous to walk through a a house. I wanted my mommy! Or at least the Realtor that sent me alone!
Wow! That's all I can say. Cobwebs, bat droppings, a black cat on the back porch, old furniture way past it's usefulness, and many, many other scary things.
This staging appointment goes in memory book for sure.
The owners of this house have a decent amount of work ahead of them...mostly to un-spook their property.
I wish the sellers and the agent the best. I hope someone can see this house that this house could be very beautiful.
It may take a while though because spooky houses just don't sell.
