Not all home stagers are create equal. Before you hire a home stager for youself or for your clients, you should consider a couple of things to ensure you are getting the best possible service.
Experience and Professionalism. This may be the the most important. If you are the realtor making the referral to a stager, this stager, in a sense, represents you. Experience and professionalism of the stager will be key in extending your image as well. Interview different staging companies so you can ensure the best fit for yourself and your sellers.
Insured. This one is also important. You want to make sure the stager you decide to use is fully insured. A stager will be moving valuable belongings of sellers, you will want to make sure coverage is in place.
Rental Items. Ask your stager if rental furniture or decorative items are available. This can be important for staging vacant homes or sprucing up a couple rooms in a house.
Super Service. What kind of service are you getting? Is your stager tracking the properties, are they following up with the sellers, are they following up with you? Communication between seller, stager, and realtor is vital to the selling process.
