"Thanks for all your help today. My husband says you're his new best friend - maybe you could help him organize his "companys" small amount of filing. Although once I get one of those gadgets (label maker)  tomorrow I will be going to town!!!!!!!!!!"

Greetings!
After last months 'It's Just Stuff!' e-news went out, a past client reminded me about the George Carlin skit where he talks about stuff.  I think it's too funny and true not share with you

Warning:  May contain adult, but funny and accurate content!

I look forward to helping you get rid of your stuff soon! ;)

Ground Rules!
1.  Everything in your life should have value, either because it's functional or beautiful or just because you love it.  Use it, Love it, or Lose it!  What would you grab if your house was on fire?

2.  Just as you need a home, so does your stuff.  Setting things down on any old flat surface creates piles and clutter build-up.  You will never lose anything again if you give an item a home and make sure it gets returned there very day.

3.  Avoid multitasking.  You're trying to simplify your life, so simplify your approach to getting organized.  Trying to do too many things at once leaves you with many unfinished projects.

Okay, now that we know the ground rules, let's begin...

The The Crammed Kitchen:
Kitchens have become a central hub in most homes.  Often though much stress swirls around the clutter filled cabinets and drawers.  Not after today; today you are going to get rid of what you're not using and put similar items together in the best places.

  • Cookbooks.  It's time to downsize the cookbook collection.  How often do you cook?  Do you find yourself looking up new reicpes on the internet anyway?
  • Food Containers.  All your plastic storage containers should have matching lids, be free of cracks, tears or other damages.
  • Knives.  If you're short on counter space, try installing a drawer style knife block.
  • Pots and Pans.  If you don't have a lot of storage space, try installing a pot rack to store pots and pans.  They will be easily accessible and you will freeup huge amounts of cabinet or drawer space.
  • Appliances.  If it doesn't work, toss it.  If it's missing a peice, either replace once and for all or also toss.  If it was a gift that you never really had a use for, donate to someone who does.
