"Jessica,
I am TOTALLY amazed! Thank you so much for your help; it's been awesome. I feel so good about my garage because when I am looking for things I now know where to find them. I'm even looking forward to snow next year because the car finally fits in the garage! :) "
Regards,
Bob

Greetings!
Spring is in the air! Know how I can tell? Because I only want to be outside...who wants to work indoors when you can be out enjoying the sunshine and warm spring breeze.
That's why this time of year is PERFECT for getting your garage in order. It's not too hot, too cold, or too humid, you get to be outside and get something done all at the same time.
Can you park in your garage? Are you embarassed to leave the door open for fear your neighbors might see? Are you worried about your kids getting into something they shouldn't? If you answered 'Yes' to any of the above, you must read on...
Sincerely,
-Jessica, Bringer of Order

Go-Go Garage! |

Garages have become on of THE prime dumping grounds for our homes. Many are so stuffed with clutter that there is no longer room even to park the car. By designing a zone system based on the activities we pursue on a daily, weekly and seasonal basis, we can free up enough room in our garage for everything that needs to be there - even the car. Imagine that!
Garages should be organized into activity zones that make it very intuitive for the entire family. I often ask clients to think of their garage as a hardware store. I tell them to picture how a hardware store is arranged, with like items grouped with like items. This common-sense approach to organization makes it easy for people to find things when they need them, and put them back in the right place when they're done.
Here are some quickie solutions to common garage disorganization issues:
- Go Vertical! Use the vertical space to implement shelving, cabinets, overhead racks. You can also hang tools, bikes, sports equipment, etc. Just do so safely!
- Ahh, Beautiful Bins. Use bins and containers to store like items together. Clear can be great for easy viewing. Label all containers so everyone knows where to find and put things away.
- Safety First. Store toxic, hazardous and unsafe items where little hands and mouths can't reach. This includes paints, fertilizers, weed killers, cleaning products, etc.
- Got Kid Klutter? Not anymore. Store kids items where they easily reach. Use wall mount organizational units to store sports equipment, balls, bikes, skates, helmets, etc. If they can reach, they can put it away. How 'bout them apples? You'll not only save yourself some time, but you'll start teaching the kids to be organized too!
- Keep What You Use and Toss the Rest! Only keep the tools, equipment, toys, etc that you use on a regular basis. Do you really need 7 sleeping bags, 2 snowblowers, 3 rakes, a rusty bike with a broken chain, and 3 gallons of miscellaneous nuts and bolts?
Spring is the perfect time to organize your garage. Take advantage of cooler temperatures and low humidity to ensure completion of a successful project!
If you're ready to start reaping the benefits of being organized, you'll want to make sure you take advantage of the great offer in the coupon box below...it's only available to the first 5 customers!
I look forward to helping you create your very own room to breathe!

This month deals with our most common questions on overhead storage/organizer systems.
Q: My garage has tall ceilings. Does that offer any advantages?
A: Tall ceilings offer great opportunities. While it certainly allows for taller cabinetry storage (if desired), it also creates the opportunity to store materials directly from the ceiling. Examples include ladders, kayaks, storage totes (via rack systems) and bikes.
Q: Do you recommend storing bicycles from the ceiling?
A: Depends. If it's a childs bike, no. It becomes too difficult for the child to use the bike when the opportunity exists. For seldom used adult bikes, ceiling mounted bike lifts can provide a great alternative to floor or wall-mounted bike racks.
Q: For overhead storage racks, what is the difference between what the big-box stores sell vs. what you provide? A: Stores provide the DIY versions of overhead units. Usually smaller than professional systems, the DIY versions do not provide the weight bearing capacity of the pro systems. In addition, our systems are installed by our expert crews and carry the warranty only offered by professionally installed systems. Our ONRAX overhead storage systems range in sizes from 2'x4' up to 4'x8'. Side cargo nets are available for all models as well. More questions about this topic?
