| Greetings!
I don't know about you , but I really can't believe I'm composing my December e-newsletter already. This time of year is bittersweet for me. It's a time when I truly begin to reflect on the past year, start thinking about what to accomplish in the new year and get frustrated trying to think of creative and useful holiday gifts. Obviously, I'm anti-clutter so gift giving is that much more difficult for me. And I know I'm not easy to buy for either! ;)
Read on for some tips on Holiday Freedom and feeling great in '08!
Happy Holidays,

Holiday Freedom! |
|
The gift giving and receiving season is upon us once again and for some this can bring a great deal of stress and frustration. I definitely fall into that category during this time of year. Yes, I know I shouldn't be admitting this to you, but it's true. It's just that myself and my clients are completely overwhelmed by the frenzied pace, debt and stress of buying and receiving holiday gifts. Not to sound ungrateful, but a girl can only take so many bottles of lotions, bath gels, gloves, and crystal vases.
My personal quest for a gift-free holiday season has begun! You may not be ready to go gift-free now (or ever), but please take a moment to at least consider the option that can be more earth friendly, save you time searching for the "perfect" gift, and possibly save the gift recipient the stress of dealing with an item that isn't quite that "perfect" gift after all.
I've come up with some solutions that will make us all feel holiday cheer without adding more stuff to our lives.
Clutter-free (dust free too!) gifts:
- Financial or charitable gifts made in the name of your "gift" recipient
- Consumable gifts like cookies, candies, gourmet coffees/teas, wines, etc.
- Gifts of service (professional
organizing...hint, hint!)
- Car Wash gift certificates
- Movie, Theater, or Concert Tickets
- A handwritten letter or note showing your appreciation or how much you care
- For teachers/caregivers you can give items that can be used at school/daycare (construction paper, markers, snacks in bulk, other consumables)
- Lottery Tickets (scratch off kind are especially fun!)
- Care package to a soldier or less fortunate family made in the name of your "gift" recipient
- Fresh flower arrangement
