Living more simply will really make you feel wonderful! Just imagine having less to collect dust, spending less money, having more time to do absolutely nothing and feeling good about it, should I keep going? Are you picturing this "dream" life? Well, let me tell you, it's not a dream; it' a reality!
3 More Tips to start simplifying your life today:
-
Chaos is Contagious. Stop chaos in its tracks today. The solution is to have a place for everything and everything in its place.
-
Plan Ahead, Don't Fall Behind. There's never enough time to do all we really want to. So make sure to prioritize and get the most important items done first.
-
Just Say No. You can't do everything and it's okay to say no. Saying no leaves room in your life for the wonderful things you enjoy. If you're uncomfortable simply saying 'no', then answer with this-I'm sorry, but I'm just not able to at this time.

Helping You Help Yourself
Dear Jessica,
One of our biggest problems with staying organized is the "paper trail." We don't know what we HAVE to keep and what we can throw out. For example, how do you know when you can throw out tax documents? We have YEARS just taking up space and each year we add to the pile.
Thanks!
-Shannon Milligan, Philadelphia
Dear Shannon,
Yikes! Paperwork is certainly the most tedious of all organizing , but it's also the most important. It's so easy to become buried if you don't have great systems or retention guidelines in place.
It's hard to get a straight answer from the IRS on exact retention guidelines so I've compiled suggestions from the IRS in addition to several local accountant recommendations. Please follow the link below to get your free copy:
Suggested Retention Schedule
Right off the bat, you MUST keep your tax returns forever. After 7 years you may be able to discard the supporting documentation, but keep the actual return form. I also suggest checking with your financial or legal advisor for specific advice.
I hope this helps!
