KCCD Hosts 2010 Holiday Celebration

                                            & Pastor Appreciation Night!

Los Angeles, CA - On December 13, 2010 KCCD hosted a Holiday Celebration & Pastor Appreciation Night at the Glory Church of Jesus Christ to give thanks to the many pastors and churches we work with for all their hard work and dedication in serving and advancing the community.

Over 200 people joined the evening celebration, which included speeches from local and national elected officials, as well as church and community leaders, including U.S. Rep. Judy Chu (D-Elmonte), L.A. City Controller Wendy Greuel, L.A. County Assessor John Noguez, L.A. County Supervisor Mark Ridley Thomas and L.A. City Councilmember Bernard Parks, who all sent greetings and congratulations to KCCD, as well as to the many pastors and churches for their outstanding service to the community.

Pastor Seung Hoon Shin, Glory Church of Jesus Christ, gave the opening prayer, and Won Chang La, First Secretary of the Korean Embassy, D.C., discussed the potential benefits of the South Korea - United States Free Trade Agreement -- which is still being debated in Congress -- and how it would benefit local communities in Los Angeles and across Southern California.

Also attending was Jim Tolle, Senior Pastor of La Iglesia En El Camino (Church on the Way), which represents a congregation of over 18,000 members. Pastor Tolle shared an inspirational message on the role of Korean churches in the community.

Pastor Jeong Ki Min, President, Council of Korean Churches in Southern California and Pastor Peter Hyowoo Park, President of Southern California Korean Ministers Association sent their greetings to KCCD and discussed their work in the community.

Janny Kim, Regional Executive, Ethnic Markets Business Solutions, and Janetta Harris, Public Affairs Region Manager for Southern California Edison provided a special offer for churches to save 40 percent on their electricity bill.

The evening was also blessed with a performance from the Pastor and Elder Couples Praise Choir, and dozens of raffle prizes were given away, including a Philips 40-inch high definition television, 3 HP laptops and 100 Wi Spa gift certificates.
