KCCD joined a host of other non-profit and community organizations at the Oakwood Family Resource Center on November 19, 2010 for a Free Resource & One-e-App Event Fair.

The event connected hundreds of families to vital financial and social resources offered by organizations such as KCCD, Children's Bureau, the Bresee Foundation, Legal Aid and South Bay Center for Counseling.

"We are excited that there was such a large turnout," said Hyepin Im, President & CEO of KCCD. "Many families are not aware of the many programs and services available to them through the Family Source Center Collaborative."

The Family Source Center (FSC) Collaborative is a City of Los Angeles program that connects individuals and families within Los Angeles to a network of services offered by local non-profit and community organizations.

The One-e-App is a one-stop, web-based application system that allows families and individuals to be pre-approved for several free and low-cost services, including Food Stamps, Medi-Cal, Earned Income Tax Credit and more.

"What's great about One-e-App is that it allows families and individuals to get pre-approved for these services in one sitting," said Andrew Kim, KCCD Project Specialist.

""The One-e-App is a great service that KCCD and other organizations within the collaborative are able to offer," said Im. "It streamlines the application process, and allows families to receive the help they need faster."
