KCCD's "10 Great Dates" Instructors' Training was attended by 160 pastors and community leaders with an interest in providing marriage education for the community.  All participants received a free "10 Great Dates" book and DVD.

On January 10, KCCD hosted a successful "10 Great Dates" Instructors' Seminar with over 160 pastors and community leaders in attendance at Wilshire United Methodist Church.

Participants had the special opportunity to be trained by the program authors' David and Claudia Arp who presented an overview of the program, providing tips for launching successful marriage education programs. In addition to receiving  free  "10 Great Dates" book and DVD, participants also learned how to get free "10 Great Dates" books for all their members when they offer 10 Great Dates in their communities.

Hyepin Im, KCCD President, stated, "In the last six months, KCCD has trained over 300 leaders to conduct marriage education in their congregations and communities. We were pleased to introduce another great program to the community and to have the authors join us. I would like to thank California Healthy Marriages Coalition for their partnership in allowing us to offer this valuable program for free to the community."

The Arps stated, "We're so pleased to partner with KCCD in encouraging marriages. It was a thrill for us to share about 10 Great Dates and we look forward to hearing how this program works in Korean churches and communities."

Jin Kim, KCCD Executive Director, stated, "We were also pleased to have a large turnout of pastors. With 75% of the Korean American community being connected with the church, having the pastors' participation and partnership is key to promoting healthy marriages in the community."

The "10 Greate Dates" Instructors' Seminar is part of KCCD's ongoing investment to strengthen marriages and families through the KCCD Healthy Marriage Initiative and KCCD Asian Pacific American Healthy Marriage Network (APAHMN). Other Instructors' Training Programs include Mastering the Mysteries of Love and Connections (for youth).
