
On December 3, 2007, Hyepin Im, President of KCCD was honored with the Community Service Leadership Award by the Council of Korean Churches in Southern California at their 1st Annual Holiday Banquet. Over 300 pastors attended the successful event. The Council of Korean Churches in Southern California represents over 1,300 Korean American churches and 39 denominations in Southern California.
Rev. Jong Dae Park, the President of The Council of Korean Churches in Southern California,stated, "President Im and KCCD have been helpful to our association in facilitating partnerships with the greater community and raising the visibility of the contribution of Korean American churches. It is such an important and necessary work that we, first generation pastors, are not able to do. We want to express our appreciation for KCCD's contribution and leadership in this important arena."
President Im stated, "I was quite surprised and honored to receive this recognition from such an influential organization in the community, the Council of Korean Churches in Southern California. I'm grateful to President Park for his leadership and the Council for their partnership in many of KCCD's successful initiatives including our recent Healthy Marriage Initiative.
