February 2010 Monthly Musings

I like making objects of beauty and function out of random pieces of art, paper, glue, and thread. It is so satisfying. It is good for me to clear the shelves to make room for new ideas to come forth. I have been thinking about a class that would be called. "How to make art out of what you have". I could become an art project consultant. I could come to your house and look at the stuff you have been saving and help you create something you can use or give away. Just kidding. I barely have enough time to follow through on my own ideas which are coming at me three fold lately. Making art is good for the soul. Making functional art such as books is good for the heart. Take a look at what you have around and see if you can imagine turning it into something new. When you can recycle and recreate your stuff it is good for the earth. If you have any thoughts about this let me know.

Have a great month. I will see some of you in Seattle at the Women of Wisdom Conference where I will
be selling my books and art. February 13 - 15, 2010

Do something that makes you happy.
Love, Denise

I have been very happy in the studio making books, books, and more books. It gives me the opportunity  to use up artwork, pastepaper, handmade paper, and found treasures that I have been saving for a while.

Imagine this:   What you create is important to our world.
