Here is a reminder that my exhibit of new work opens this Friday September 5th in Ashland, Oregon at Hanson Howard Gallery 82 N. Main Street. I am showing with a wonderful sculptor, Nelson Davis. His work is fun and whimsical. The opening is 5:00 to 8:00. I hope to see you there. I still have a few openings for my studio workshops. See my schedule below. Here is a new piece that will be in the exhibit.
 Day DreamerArtist Statement I am an artist working to tell stories from my heart, stories that I dream and that dream me. I am painting, drawing, and creating images that have a life of their own. I am just as surprised as you. I am very aware of the state of the world. It troubles and saddens me. Sure there's lots of doom and gloom, plenty to go around. Sometimes when I am depressed or worried I will create the most lighthearted images like, "Costello and the fire sticks" or "Day Dreamer". I do not try to tell one story or another when I do my work. These are the images that come and I do my best to let them tell their story. Some of the stories are in the title and that is enough. Some of the pieces have more to say. I think sometimes the images are trying to cheer me up. Life can be hard but it is also full of beauty and stories that are silly and absurd and just as important and maybe more important than the constant bombardment of awfulness.
From my heart I swear to string together
what is precious to me, to life, to peace.
I will envision and create a world
dedicated to beauty - No matter what.
