We will , carve stamps, make some prints, collage cards, create paste paper, and make a book.

You will love it.

We will carve a Soft Block as a template and learn about viscosity printing.  This is a hands on and one on one experience.
Greetings!

Hello,
I hope to see you at the Briscoe School grounds for the 3rd annual MidSummer's Art & Music Fair. (June 16th & 17th) here in Ashland.
I will not be selling at the Oregon Country Fair this year for the first time in 18 years.  I needed a little break.  The Peace Fence has been a great success thanks to Jean, Kay and all the other wonderful women who made and continue to make it possible.

  birth of Gaea

AA Creation Story - The Birth of Gaia

She is the daughter of Chaos
born of star material
fire and ice, sound and fury
alchemical green and blue matter
red magma spewing passionate heat
steamy beginnings
a universal elixir of life
never still always in motion
changing growing dying re-birthing
She will continue to be
in some form or another
She may shake us off and begin again
She may shape herself so that the paradise lost
will be found again

A few thoughts about my workshops

My workshops are not just about making art and learning new techniques, though we learn a lot about techniques and we make a lot of art.  We are stretching toward a meeting with our own creative inner artist. What we are really exploring is how to open the door to our own unique dialogue with our art.  We practice trusting our own voice, our body, our intuition.   Most of all we practice trusting and honoring the communication with our own deep source.  We work at letting go of the
judge and critic.  How did we become so
judgmental of ourselves?
Is it our American work ethic that has caused us to steer clear of our intuitive yearnings - to distrust
our own heart?

When it comes to our own creativity we must not be critical or judgmental.  I know this is a challenge for many people because we expect the money we spend and the time we set aside to have results that prove we have spent our time and money well.  These thoughts restrict the creative flow. It is very important to be less demanding of our creative selves and to practice kindness toward what is trying to come through your heart into your hands and onto the paper.  It is a miracle.   The  relationship between you and your art is stimulated by practice and trust.  I believe the art you are yearning for is also yearning for you, so be kind and tender with it, otherwise it will be illusive and I have found that it will not show up to be judged or criticized.

Please come stretch toward that which has been stretching toward you.  The world needs what you and your art have to say.

Be kind to your selves and
listen to your heart and your art.
Love, Denise
