Have a Birthday Filled with Creativity and Fun with Party Packages at the Children's Art Centre!
The Children's Art Centre (CAC) is thrilled to announce a recent expansion of our birthday party options. In addition to our "Hands Off" space rentals, we are also offering "Hands On" children's birthday party packages, which include art stations and activities; set up and clean up; an experienced birthday party facilitator who is both Early Childhood Education Certified and speaks Spanish; private access to our historic art studio or playspace, courtyard, and playground; and, add-on options such as decorations and snacks. Best of all, revenue generated from birthday parties at the Children's Art Centre supports our programs by providing access to high-quality arts education for low-income families. Looking for a unique, creative, and community-based location for your child's next birthday? | Spotlight on: Arts in Early Learning Residency Program - A Partnership with Blackstone Elementary School
As part of a partnership with Blackstone Elementary School, the Children's Art Centre (CAC) recently implemented its Stories and Stage: Enhancing Language Acquisition through the Arts program in a Sheltered English Immersion Kindergarten classroom at the school. 23 students, with differing levels of English proficiency, and their teacher have been participating in the program, which links directly with the classroom curriculum. Taught by CAC staff and Early Childhood educator Helen Schroeder, Stories and Stage is designed to encourage development of oral language and vocabulary skills through collaborative storytelling, visual sequencing, dance and movement, drama, and theater activities. Through close collaboration with the classroom teacher, the curriculum is also presented as a resource that can be adapted to further integrate arts methods into the classroom after the residency ends. At the end of the program, a family presentation will give parents and guardians an opportunity to share in their children's learning. The Children's Art Centre is excited to continue our work with the Blackstone Elementary School in the future, working to increase knowledge of and access to arts-based learning throughout the South End and Lower Roxbury community. Thanks to Ms. Marquez and her students for their hard work! |

The Children's Art Centre has a long history of promoting its programs with brochures, with the earliest archived copy dating back to the 1920s. Historic brochures provide a fascinating window into the classes and programs offered by the Art Centre over the past 100 years, from $1 memberships to ceramics classes using the Art Centre's very own kiln. Today's brochures reflect the colorful and process-based projects that define many of the Children's Art Centre's programs, and are designed by Director of Arts and Culture Chelsea Revelle.
