New Orleans, LA, April 18, 2010 - Urban League College Track is now accepting enrollment applications for the class of 2014! This incredible opportunity is for rising 9th graders and is one that will close the gap between access and opportunity for higher learning.
UrbanLeagueCollege Track, an after-school college preparatory program, is intentionally designed to support students from the end of eighth grade through college graduation. UrbanLeagueCollege Track sets high expectations for student achievement and offers a variety of programs in three core areas: Academic Affairs, Student Life, and College Affairs. UrbanLeagueCollege Track ismerit-based, so students can begin earning college dollars while they are still in high school!

The Urban League College Track venture in New Orleans, led by Urban League of Greater New Orleans President and CEO, Nolan Rollins, and College Track CEO Debbra Lindo, is garnering national attention as a flagship partnership joining the nation's largest and oldest community-based organization devoted to empowering African Americans with a Bay area-based after school program that helps low-income students graduate from high school prepared to succeed in college. College Track's work to affect systemic reform and influence a college going culture in New Orleans could serve as the program delivery model for the Education and Youth Empowerment initiatives nationwide.
Currently, College Track serves 450 high school students at four centers in the San FranciscoBay area and New Orleans. Its 280 college students attend more than 60 colleges and universities throughout the country. Over the past 10 years, College Track has achieved tremendous results: more than 90% of College Track's high school seniors enroll in a four-year university and over 90% of College Track's college students have already earned or are still pursuing a college degree.
