Time Magazine Spotlights National Urban League Centennial
|
For 100 years, the National Urban League has played a pivotal role in advocating for the economic and civil rights of underserved communities. Want to know more about the National Urban League Movement? Pick up the latest issue of Time Magazine for an overview of the League's history and how it's advanced over the years. A special six-page feature, "Is the Dream Fulfilled?" celebrates the National Urban League Centennial.
The Urban League of Greater New Orleans justly takes great pride in being a part of the National Urban League's historic and current tradition of excellence. The National Urban League evokes significant achievements, struggles and triumphs, and to many, it is more than just a civil rights organization, it is an entity whose influence has an impact on the history and culture of a nation.
As the tradition continues, we encourage you to join us at our annual gala Saturday, June 26, 2010, at the Sheraton New Orleans, as we celebrate the Centennial and rededicate ourselves to the National Urban League's mission of Empowerment.
