Nolan Rollins' Statement on Alleged Voting Machine Irregularities |
One of the most basic tenets of our American democracy is that every citizen has the right to have their voice heard by exercising their right to vote. It has come to the attention of the Urban League of Greater New Orleans that this basic right seems to have been compromised by a technological glitch at best or human intervention at worst.
Either way, we call on all responsible parties to: 1) Investigate the voting irregularities which prompt voters to make selections in some cases against their will, and 2) ensure that by election day, all machine malfunctions are corrected to assure voters are truly afforded the right to have their voice heard as they expect it to be. Give back to the people what they have earned by virtue of their citizenship; give us back our democratic right to vote- unbiased and without persuasion. -Nolan V. Rollins President & CEO, Urban League of Greater New Orleans
